Tailgate sensor
#1
Does anyone know where the back tailgate sensor is that senses when the tailgate is not closed properly

On hot days, sometimes I may want to just pop in to a shop while I have the dog in the car and would like to be able to leave the tailgate open but be able to lock the rest of the car

I have a full Barjo tailgate dog guard which has a padlock to stop anyone letting the dog out, or worse, stealing her

So I'd like to on those occasional instances, to cover the sensor so that the Berlingo thinks the back door is locked allowing me to lock the rest of the car so the dog does not overheat

At the moment I have to take the dog home before returning to the shop as I won't leave her in the car on a hot day, not even for two minutes

The 'sensor' is probably in the door lock ( a mechanical microswitch ) as that's
where it is on all of the other doors. It's certainly not a photo-electric cell.

I am wondering though if a dummy latch could be made up and placed
into the look to operate the microswitch with the tailgate open.

Just a thought.

This is now solved and the solution was a simple one

With the tailgate open, I just pushed the catch in to so that it was in the closed position and this now fools the sensor in to thinking the door is closed

Just have to remember to release the catch before closing the tailgate
