New clutch
#1
Hi. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me please. I have just fitted a clutch into a 1400 berlingo on 2003. Put everything back together and tried it out. The problem is when I depress the pedal to disengage the clutch I cannot select any gears. That's with the clutch pedal right to the floor. If I lift the pedal just slightly I can then go and select the gears. What could be causing this?

Thanks martin

Hello Bigmac welcome to the forum is there any free movement in the clutch peddle before you press it what i think is happening your pushing the thrust bearing in to far and pushing the preasure plate centre on to the clutch plate so it's still engaged so it need's to be adjusted or have you put the clutch plate in the right way round

If the centre plate was in the wrong way,the clutch will not free.I would check the cable, especially if it's an auto adjust.Confusedalut:
