Enable Cd Changer (DE12 area)
#1
Just fitted a Bluetooth device for my phone which needs the cd changer to be enabled to work for the handsfree. Spoke to Citroen (burton) to see if they can do it but after giving my reg they said my Berlingo doesn’t have that function. Is this correct and if not is there anyone in the DE12 area that can do this? I’ve read up a bit and looks like i need someone with Lexia.

Hi Matty,

Welcome to the forum, it might be worth posting your model year Berlingo and what stereo it has It.

As members here will probably know if it is possible if given that information.

Also out of interest what Bluetooth module did you fit ?

Thanks for reply mark and the welcome.

It’s a 62 plate Berlingo with the factory fitted stereo and the device I’ve fitted is a “connects 2’ Bluetooth handsfree.

If it looks like this (rd4 unit)
It can be done in lexia or diagbox.

Hi Matty,

Mark Lightfoot in Ilkeston (Google says around 27 miles from you ) should be able to do it.

He has a well reviewed garage and offers advice on here, he will be a lot cheaper than any Citroen garage.

You could ring him for a quote,

His number is 0115 932 8396

Cool let us know how you get on and what you think of the connect2 Bluetooth unit, I've been looking at getting one for a while, but have never seen a review of it or had seen any forum members opinion of it.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Just an update mark,

Rang Mark Lightfoot and its £50 to get this enabled. I’m going to swing by when I’m in the area so will let you know when I’m all up and running.

Thanks Matty, that's a good price compared to over £100 at franchised dealers, if you can find one that will do it.

Keep me posted mate.

I fitted a Connects2 unit to my 2010 XTR and found it didn't need anything enabled, it just worked! Its worth trying it before paying to get it enabled.
I've posted about the Connects2 unit on here before, works well, exactly as described. Once connected it streams everything your phone plays through the car audio: phone, phone gps, music etc. The phone sound is good (I positioned the microphone high in the A-pillar trim). The wiring and minimal instructions were spot-on.
