I had a quick look at the numbers and I guess they speak for themselves. HDI for towing, have to thrash the nuts of a petrol to get it to shift, and life in the slow lane for a 1.9 Fair assessment?

Peak torque;

1.9d 92.2 lbs/ft or 125 nm @ 2500 rpm
1.6HDI (90) 158.6 lbs/ft or 215 nm @ 1750 rpm
1.6i 108.0 lbs/ft or 146 nm @ 4000 rpm
