berlingo clutch pedal play
#11
Went to agents (here in france), told not a seperate part, a pedal new here is €68. The i/d of bush is 12mm, o/d 14mm, I cut the parallel first part from a silicon tube nozzle, (quite a hard black plastic not the usual soft translucent type) squeezed it in using a vice then had to ream it out slightly, refitted pedal, much better but not perfect. Not knowing how good a new one is I'll live with it.

I've just done our's this morning. It was that bad that both the metal barrel of the pedal and the pivot shaft were wearing, the plastic bush was practically non-existant. The green bushes are not available from PSA as seperate parts. The only way to do the job properly is to replace the pedal and pivot shaft.
Not the owner, just the bloke who looks after it.

ALL the owner does is drive it and put fuel in. Rolleyes

Hello Daddydowse thanks for this - i spoke to the chaps at BPF and that item number you gave isnt actually an item number - they said it must have been your order number. After a lengthy discussion with them we worked out which part it must have been. Heres the link:

https://www.bpfonline.co.uk/show_product...atid=11066

Hope this helps you chaps find it easier!

best thing is there's no minimum order quantity - and i picked up one of these sweet revolving sockets for my kitchen island Big Grin  - https://www.bpfonline.co.uk/search.asp?catid=11042

The Mrs was bouncing off the walls when i showed her.

And this took it over the free postage amount, Result.

Bringing this one back to life as just been given a advisory of pedal play on the MOT, which she passed again...yay.

How easy is it to replace this plastic sleeve? I've just had a look and it looks like a pig of a job. Just taken it to a garage for a quote and they're talking about removing the pedal box :-0 anywhere from 2-5hrs labour!!!!!!

Hello folks. This is my first post on this forum and just wanted to say thanks for the information contained in this thread, specifically, the dimensions of the green bushes that Citroen/Peugeot don't sell separately and a supplier of a suitable alternative.

I did this job this morning, on my 2008 1.6 HDI with hydraulic clutch, as I had a horrendous, wobbly, squeaky clutch pedal. Took a leisurely half an hour to unbolt the top of the brake pedal, remove clutch pedal, remove old worn bushes and replace with new bushes and new pivot bolt, as mine showed some heavy wear. I elected not to renew the blue pedal cam as that was in good condition. All the load seems to be on those thin green bushes. Clutch pedal feels lovely now.

Only need a 13mm socket on a small ratchet handle, 13mm spanner may have been used, a screwdriver to poke out the remains of the old bushes, some grease and blue roll, as it can get messy and sticky from the old grease.

I had exactly this type of wobble from another thread, which I will back-reference to this one:

https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-16791.html

Diagram of the brake pedal. You need to undo nut 70 to remove bolt 72 so that the brake pedal can pivot on the master cylinder yoke, on item 7. This will give you enough room to remove the clutch pedal pivot bolt.

Then, on the clutch pedal side of things, unclip the return spring item 3, remove clip 15 to remove master cylinder pivot 14, undo nut 71 and remove pivot bolt 7. The pedal will now be free.

Once you've got the clutch pedal off, remove blue cam and 2x knackered green bushes. Lube up some new ones and fit to pedal and (re)fit blue cam.

Chuck it all back together with plenty of lube and make sure: (1) your clutch pedal no longer wobbles and is nice and smooth, (2) you have brakes and (3) the brake lights still work and you haven't mashed the switch up.

From a Citroen or Peugeot dealer, the RRP of the pivot bolt (2170.20) is £8.74+VAT and of the cam (2141.46) is £9.54+VAT. Ouch. But better than £50+ for a new pedal, just for those two little green bushes!

I didn't get my new bushes from Banbury Plastic Fittings in the end, as it would have been over a fiver for two including delivery. I ended up getting eight of them from Germany. If anyone needs a pair of these bushes, please let me know and I'll put some in the post for a couple of quid to cover postage. I'm not looking to make any money on this; I just took one for the team to help the community out, as it has helped me out immensely on this one.

Cheers.

Hi Mankee welcome to the forum and top marks for your write up on the clutch wobble. Just one thing is this the M59 model or the latest one B9 as they were both produced that year.

Aha, I was hoping someone had solved this.

My new (as of yesterday) 2008 1.6 M59 has what looks to be the same problem. I'll take the pedal off at some point to take a closer look.
