[Engine] Fault Codes and speedo
#1
Hi!
This is my first thread as I just got my first Berlingo.

So there are few problems.

First of all, I have 2004 petrol 1.4i engine.

I have no problem with idling, but while driving when press clutch or put in neutral engine just stops, I can put back in gear or turn key and it will start with no problem, sometimes it will start by itself.

OBD gives me these two codes:
P0412
Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve A Circuit Malfunction

P0420
Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
Bosch ME746 - Front pre-catalyser. Ageing. (Front bank on PSA V6)
MM48P - Catalytic converter ageing.
EDC16C3/34 - Particle filter. PEF overloaded.

Another problem is with faulty speedometer/odometer.
THEY DONT WORK!

I replaced sensor on gearbox and nothing changed.
I can trigger speedo with obd software.

Then I wanted to to check wires, I found pin 1 and it was ok, also pin 2 had grounded, but I can't find where pin3 goes. In other threads there was some wiring diagram, but it didn't work for me, because there wasn't any wire in 48V MR pin B3.

Thanks' in advance!

If your vehicle was always petrol, then it can't have an EDC16C34 ECU as that's for a diesel? Also no Particle Filter - again Diesel only.

Has this vehicle been swapped from diesel to petrol??

Stalling at idle can be the idle control valve, or MAF for example. Have a look at our tutorials section, there is documentation there on the Bosch ME petrol system and engine sensors.

vin say's that it was born with petrol engine. I copied that code from some kind of list, as I thought it was the same.

Delphi says:
P0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold (Bank1)
P0412 Secondary Air injection switching valve "A" circuit

Ok, I'd look for intake leaks in the air path or a vacuum leak first. The intake pipework plastics are flimsy and split easily.

This is the most likely cause of stalling in a petrol car when it drives fine but stalls when you lift off the pedal in neutral.
