I removed the Tudor battery from my 1.6HDi and replaced it with a new battery for a VW Passat which I had in the garage.

I offered up the Bosch (Varta) made battery and although larger than the original fitted well in the tray.
The advantages are:
*Bosch v. Tudor reliability. Tudor batteries have been known to spray acid from the breather! (See Honest John's site)
* 750 CCA v. 480 CCA so 30% more power for that cold start in the morning
*5 year guarantee on the Bosch battery.

Spec on this one is Bosch S4 100 which apparently superceeds the S4 96.

Techy info:-

72 Ah, Cold Cracking Amps 680cca, 4 year guarantee. Widthwise it is same as the one that came off but about 40mm longer than the old unit, loads of room on the battery tray and like Ol'Jeffers says, a lot more grunt for those cold morning starts
