1.9d cold start issue

the choke cable should be putting pressure onto the choke lever when cold, as the car warms up the cable releases slightly letting the car idle as normal. try to adjust the cable when cold to idle at around a 1000rpm.
If the engine is a xud, then the cable slackens due to a heat adjustable capsule fitted to the thermostat housing if thats any use...
