Peugeot / Vauxhall dealers?
#1
Question
Hi, I don't have a convenient Citroen dealer or specialist nearby, but there are Peugeot and Vauxhall dealers around.  I realise a decent local garage should be able to do most work, and that presumably parts are mostly the same for the different versions of the Berlingo/Partner etc.  However I'm thinking about thinks like software updates & recalls & so on.

So, would Peugeot or Vauxhall dealers have access to updates for Citroen software, or are they restricted to their own branded version of the Berlingo?  (I also assume all the basic diagnostics, dealer procedures etc would be the same. I'm just wondering about software updates I  guess. Maybe there have never been any?)

I guess in summary, if I take it to a Pug dealer would they be able to do everything a Citroen dealer can?

Cheers!

Not really, each only has access to their own brand of software. Peugeot use PP2000, Citroen use DiagBox, and Vauxhall use OPCOM. None are really compatible with each other and the dealer will only be able to resolve issues relating to their own brand too. Try buying an equivalent (identical) Pug part for your Citroen from the Pug parts department....they will refuse to sell you anything.

Thanks, that's kind of what I suspected, but hoped wasn't the case ;-) . At least these days you can search part numbers online fairly easily.

Cheers.
