Electric handbrake
#1
When I put it in reverse the handbrake doesn’t want to disengage it does eventually but its stubborn,
It is automatic isn’t it or should I be pressing the button by the gear stick? Moving forward is fine
Anyone else notice this? Another problems is when I go into second gear there is a loud clunk from the gear stick which is very annoying anyone have these problem? 2023 enterprise. Thanks

The electronic handbrake should disengage automatically. I would get that sorted ASAP, since it happened on our C4 Grand Picasso, and we were completely stuck. Even the AA couldn’t sort it at roadside, and had to totally disconnect the handbrake.

There has been a recall for a software update a week or two ago, to remedy a communication problem which can cause loss of drive. I don’t suppose that this is the cause of your problem, but it is a possibility.

They can no doubt look at the second gear clunk at the same time.

Are you on a slight incline when reversing? As stated, it should release automatically but it may be affected by the hill start part of it.

With regards to the second gear clunk, something doesn't sound right there. My EAT8 gearbgox is smooth as silk

Thanks for reply’s, I will have to check on the incline bit as you may be right as it doesn’t do it all the time thinking about it , the clunking is coming from the gear stick itself underneath the cover? I’m not really that bothered as it’s a company van but I’m quite anal on things being perfect. Thanks anyway.

Are your doors closed? I have had it refusing to release if a door is not fully closed.
