Glow plugs
#1
Simple question.
Hopefully simple answer...
How easy is it to renew the glow plugs?
Has anyone done this job?
If it is straightforward, may do a tutorial for the Forum.

In the world of glow plugs, do you get what you pay for like most things?
£29.99 on ebay, or £46 for Bosch.

Is fairly straightforward, are yours knackered then?

You get what you pay for yes... Beru, NGK, or Bosch are all good, but is always wise to check glow plugs before fitment as they have been known to be duff, fresh from the box!!
Adam..2003..1.9D..LX..Silver Crew Cab Van.....
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

My engine runs slightly 'uneven' and 'lumpy' after starting from cold for short time. It is fine when starting from warm.
As the glow plugs are not only used for starting, but warming the engine after starting, my local garage has pointed out this could be the problem.
Will test them before changing, just wanted to know if it is a DIY job.

Piece of cake on the 2.0HDi, I did mine the other week. Had to loosen and remove the rail that holds the wiring out of the way and use a deep-reach socket and extension, but not difficult at all.

By a massive stroke of luck, I got Citroen original glowplugs that are £21 EACH at the dealer, for £19.99 for all 4 off ebay :-)

If you can post a pic of your engine bay myself or someone else will be able to give you a pointer or two..
