ok got a berlingo and coolant is leaking into footwell. The car doesnt overheat although there's oil in water but no water in the oil, seems like that the thick sludge has built up again after a coolant flush I did two months ago to see what's going on. I reckon its the oil cooler, I want too know where its located, and is easy to replace, my berlingo is y 2001 1.9d non turbo as could imagine the cost in garage cos I would need to flush the coolant and do a oil change at the same time, so any guidance would be much helpful

I would suspect the heater matrix has blown or is weeping. Check where the hoses
join it as they're are known to leak at the joints, especially after flushing the system.
If you're getting oil in the water as well then you may have a blown cylinder head gasket
and that could pressurise the cooling system and cause the leak that you describe.
I've known a blown head gasket, when ignored, to wreck both the radiator and the heater matrix.

I think you might find the oil filter on a 1.9 sits on the oil cooler, which is a water to oil cooler.
Look down at the filter and it should be sat on a square oil cooler with two water pipes going in?
