gearchange linkage
#1
Hi Was in France last week and when moving off after an overnight stop found it difficult to change gear. Breakdown service called for and the problem was a link rod end rubber bush had come adrift from its housing. A new one was fitted, total cost 97 euros. My Berlingo which Ive had since new is a 2007 model with 29k on the clock. Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem and or is this a common fault.

Mines quite loose, have the new one in the glovebox. The short one is only 14 euro from the main dealer

The long linkrod on my 2006 Berlingo came adrift back around 2009. Got some araldite and glued the bush back into the housing on the end of the rod. I bought a new rod and kept it in the van for about 2 years before I had to replace the original. Cost was around £15 from a dealer. Very easy to replace when the time comes. Wouldn't pay a garage to fit it, only takes a couple of minutes to Diy.

Dave.

Thanks for that . I have the old one so will do that and keep it handy for when it goes again.
