Must admit my used xtr when I viewed it just after Xmas didn't have the internal bars ,but for that year he said it should and added them in ,as well as external bars ...he nearly had heart attack when he see the parts bill for both sets ... Lol lol

Thinking about getting these but how much space do you get between the bars and the roof? Also how do you secure items to the bars so they don't slide about?

on the bars I have there are sliding things with slots in them that you can pass tie down straps to - I never bother personally as the bars have a rubber strip on the carrying surface that stops things sliding round madly in corners. - see photo - if it attaches OK

   

Use mine for a surfboard, sailing spars, and for hanging the seat of my bike on to save tying that down in the back - though not at the same time, obviously !
