Recommend me a paint...
#1
I need to wire brush and paint my LPG tank which is in the spare wheel basket.

The coating has peeled off and it was an advisory for the MOT.

I was looking at hammerite paint or Hammerite underseal (currently on offer from europarts on ebay £3.99 delivered..)

I have used hammerite paint in the long distant past, but just wondered if anyone had any recommendations??

Hammerite has changed over the years ( too much planet / green tree hugging ) I used to use and recommend it but now I won't touch it and the same can be said of Evostick etc etc and water based paints etc etc even down to Victory V's and Thomas' Hactos !!!!

I now use normal chassis paint - synthetic enamel - and it works well.

Anyway whatever you use give it a squirt of waxoil onto it all afterwards and other stuff whilst at it.

Even the ready-brek doesnt make the kids glow anymore.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

You can get Victory V lozenges at aquarterof.co.uk. They changed the formula because the originals contained chloroform or ether, not healthy stuff apparently. It explains a lot as I used to love them. I buy Aldi paint when they have it in, far better than Hammerite and a third the price.
So where does this bit go then ?

Would this do the trick:

Or do I need the proper paint???

I completely agree with ffrenchie, i bought a tin of the aldi paint, its very thin so needs 2-3 coats, i welded up and painted the sills on my picasso and over a year later its still as good as new, it doesnt chip either, brilliant stuff, ill try and put a photo up tomorrow
