[Brakes] Rear Drum removal
#1
Hi guys, Just doing a bit of maintenance to the old girl before the summer here kicks in. Tried to remove the rear brake drum to inspect the shoes but can I get it off? Rhetorical question! Am I missing a trick here? Usually mild persuasion does the trick....is there a hidden screw or bolt? I have taken the small hex out so that is not the problem.

Any ideas or just use a bit more muscle!! :brickwall:

Bit more gentle persuasion with a bar will do it! You get a lip on the back edge of the drum that gets caught on the shoes, the shoes will move with enough force. Remember to grind the lip of before you re- fit the drums.

Hi mate,

Thought that was the case. I needed to check as it sometimes happens that there is some small difference, from one to another, when removing. Will get back on the task!

Cheers,
