heated rear window
#1
I've had my Berlingo since mid July and it has been superb for what I want. However, last night the heater rear window switched itself on, independent of the ignition. In fact the key was in my pocket!
This morning, the battery was dead flat, but when I put jump leads on the warning light for the hrw was on (key still in my pocket). The car starts on jump leads, so I am now slowly recharging the battery, but the hrw is still on. I've disconnected the wires from the window, but the switch is still lit.
Have I just got a gremlin somewhere, or is this a known fault?
Btw, I don't need the window, as the back is always full of dogs and wheelchair, so I can't see out anyway!

Help!

You've more than likely got a short on the feed to the rear heater.

If like you say you dont need it then just leave it disconnected like you have done.

Unless of course you fancy getting the multimeter out....

Try giving the switch a good "workout" in case the contacts are stuck closed.

Quite happy not to have it working, but I can't understand how it can come on without the ignition being on.
Hey ho, yet another of life's little mysteries!
