2CV
#11
I think the older I get I like comfort over speed. In my teens and 20s I would never have bought an automatic now I would, I did. My next taxi will definitely be an auto box.

all what you are telling is true but i have a classic celica from 92 its compared to modern cars comfort shitty but when i see the old girl im falling back in love it handles great but a modern diesel with some extra ooompf takes a piss on it at a sprint, its all about nostalgia and as long as i can have fun in it it will stay until it rot from under my as.

I thought that as I've spent the last couple of years pottering around I'm my Berlingo which I love, and old diesel Citroens - Xantias, C5s etc. I did have a 270 bhp Impreza for a while back in 2012 and it was fun but a horrid Japanese saloon inside. Then I got offered the TT cheap and it's so nice to have all that power and grip .. but in heated leather and a quality interior. It makes all the difference.

Sent from cold, windy place.

That '2CV' is aimed at the 'premium' market...
Therefore it's NOT a 'real 2CV'.

To be a 2CV it really has to follow the design philosophy as on the original.
(Cheap, simple, roomy and versatile)
Yes, you have to upgrade some things, to keep up with modern safety and emissions standards, but that's to be expected.

Honestly, a Mk. I Berlingo with Ragtop is probably the closest you can get these days...

The original brief for the 2CV was to carry a farmer in a top hat across a ploughed field with the back full of eggs without breaking them allegedly.
So where does this bit go then ?

Well, yes...
Farmers back then weren't rich... So cheap car. And simple to keep maintenance costs low.
