Interior Storage Question
#1
Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I joined to find some information. I have searched the forum but I can't find anything on this, however forgive me if I'm covering old topics.

I have a 2002 multispace and I love it (when its working). A friend of mine has just bought the slightly newer model. His is a 2004 plate and comes with a lot more interior storage on the roof. I mostly bought the car for camping and biking trips so all the cubby holes and storage of the newer model are very attractive to me.

I would like to know if the roof interior storage can be transferred from a 2004 model to a 2002 model as the chassis looks the same to me. I am particularly keen on installing the large drop down tray immediately inside the boot on the roof (drops down with a press of a button and is full width)

If it can be transferred I will go round some breakers and try to pick an interior up.

Thanks in advance

James

Hello James, welcome to the forum.
I think the answer to you question depends on whether your car is a late MkI or an early MkII.
The picture depicts a MkII Desire and the overhead bins etc. can be fitted to any MkII.
If your car is a MkI then you'll have to do some very careful measuring.
There may be someone here who can give you a definitive answer.

OK I've looked at your identifying your berlingo section and I definitley have a Mk1. The roof storage parts I want to fit are definitely from a Mk2.

So I'm guessing that it wont fit?

I don't see why they wouldn't.

The main differences between the two are the front end; from the windscreen back they are essentially the same. There may be some differences for fixings etc that were introduced as they went but the bodyshell is the same.

I would say the best thing to do would be to find the rear storage bin (perhaps in a breakers or another vehicle for sale) and either offer it up in yours or take some measurements of mounting holes and compare to yours. I don't thinl they'll be too far out and if they are you could always fabricate the fixings.

if you get stuck, let me know and I'll happily measure or photograph mine for you.

I have a 52 multispace and it has all the storage shown in the picture.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4
2010 (B9) Berlingo Multispace XTR HDi 112 - Kyanos Blue
Previously - 2002 (M49) Berlingo Multispace 2.0 HDi Diesel - Arctic Steel

thanks for the super fast responses again, I thought they were the same from the engine bulkhead back.

next step off to a few breakers then. I'll post up my findings in case anyone else is interested in doing the same etc.

Thanks all,

James
