[Steering & Suspension] P.A.S. fluid change
#1
Is there a guide anywhere for changing the P.A.S. fluid?

Is it a job a reasonably competent person could do?

EDIT: I have a PELA oil change/vacuum pump, could this be used?

I tried a search but just got gearbox oil results.Smile

Cheers!

There should be a low pressure return pipe or something, disconnect pipes briefly run engine turn steering collect fluid in a container, get the fluid out of the reservoir by using a fluid extractor or disconnect pipe leading from it, but dont run it for too long as no fluid to lubricate pump could damage it, put new fluid in, run engine with cap off, turn steering full lock side to side to get rid of air locks, top up, repeat turning steering till fluid stops going down, then put cap back on. Not sure which pipe as dont know what van you have but I do have a haynes manual on PDF if that helps for disconnecting pipes for changing steering rack etc? PM me with your email address and I will forward you it.

If im wrong please correct me as I have not actually changed the steering rack on a berlingo before.
