Rear Box/Modutop from Desire into Forte?

Hi everyone,
I have searched through the forum for an answer on this and couldn't find one - but apologies if it's been asked previously.
I bought a 2L Mulitspace Forte 2004 today, as my Multispace Desire 1.9L 2004 seems to be on its way out (gutted). All seems well with the Forte, but I can already feel myself missing the overhead storage space that the Desire offered. The Forte's roof is carpeted, no glass panels, but does have some circular plastic plugs dotted around which I assume would be where the modutop would have been fitted if the original owner had opted for it.

Does anyone know if it's possible for me to take the modutop, and particularly the rear box storage from the Desire, and install them into my Forte? Any reasons why they wouldn't be compatible etc.?

The modutop is a complete panel incorporating the storage isn't it ? You would have to cut the middle out of your roof and take the modutop out of another car then bond in the complete panel with the storage built in.

Ahh I was hoping I'd be able to install the rear overhead box separately at least. Never mind then, but thanks for replying all the same

The holes in the roof are the same as in your modutop version, but the holes are not related to the modutop. The holes are for things like a safetynet or parcelshelf etc.

That said I think it would be possible to transfer the rear box. It should be possible to use the parts from your old van, like the latch, mount for the bar that holds the box and the brackets for the gasstruts. But I dont think its gonna be easy nor a tidy job.
