Intermittant binding front OS brake...
#21
When I had a ZX, I had an issue with front brakes wearing rather quickly after a change. The garage said they saw lots of ZXs with sticking callipers. As the Berlingo was based on ZX underneath, it wouldn't surprise me if they have the same problem. No idea what the solution was though. lots of copperease on the calliper pins? Sad

Thanks Guana

We are not convinced its the calipers though, there are loads of threads like this about the berlingos and Peugeot Partners doing exactly the same thing as ours, off to halfords for the bits we need and shall update later Smile

Would it be worth draining, flushing and refilling the brake system? I'm no expert, but it almost sounds as though there's something movable (bit of grit? Piece of rubber?) that blocks a pipe somewhere, preventing the pressure being released. Something temperature-related? Might be an expensive waste of brake fluid though.

Sounds nasty and stressful anyway. Good luck, and let us all know when you get it sorted.

Hi there, the fluid has been changed several times now,
with having the calipers off and apart 3 times and the new flexis.
I'm sat here waiting on a new M/Cylinder arriving.
Everything will be new except the calipers now.

I'm pig headedly refusing to believe it's the calipers as
when you back off the master cylinder mounting nuts, the pistons
back off, even when red hot.
If the pistons were seizing, surely they'd stick there, at least til
everything cooled down.

Anyway, after another afternoon of frantic spannering, I'll keep you posted.

By the way, changing the servo is a complete pig!!!!!

Woop! Master cylinder has just arrived!!
