No adjustable steering
#1
Apologies if this seems a bit untech.

We recently bought a 2010 Berlingo XTR 1.5HDi. After doing some research it looked like we had to buy the XTR as we wanted air conditioning - plus we liked the look and the higher ride. We also specifically wanted an adjustable steering column.

We bought from a Citroen main dealer two weeks ago and asked about both this and the air con when we were test driving it. The air con we tried, but re the steering the salesman said something like "Yes, they all have adjustable steering, but I'm not sure where it is ...". So we left it at that.

Try as we might we can't find it. Judging by the handbook, it's a lever on the L of the column, quite close to the wheel. If this is so, then our car hasn't got it.

The lack of adjustment makes it a bit awkward for my partner to find a comfortable driving position - which is why we wanted it in the first place.

Could I have advice on three points:

Is the adjustment somewhere else in the car?
If it's not there, it possible to fit adjustable steering post manufacture?
Does anyone know why an XTR wouldn't have adjustable steering?

Thanks

Hello, welcome to the forum.
I am sure you do have adjustable steering the slide is not that easy to see hope this photo helps. Lower left hand of the wheel, pull in direction of arrow to unlock. Be sure to slide it down after adjustment to lock it.

Many thanks Trevor - with the help of your photo I found it straight away. And thanks for welcoming me to the forum- I look forward to browsing it in the future.

We had an 11 year old original style Kangoo but were unimpressed by the new model. So we looked at a deisel Berlingo and it really fits the bill. We love it and have just had a 500 mile trip in it with loads of luggage and no strain.

Cheers

John
