Partner tepee boot jump query
#1
Hi all,

New to the forum and would appreciate a bit of help.

I have just bought a 2015 partner tepee,  none face lift model that I plan on turning in to a micro camper with a kit like the amdro.  I've done a bit of research and the ones at peak van conversions seem good quality and reasonable in price. Does anyone on here have any experience of these or the firm? I know I could save some money doing it myself but in all honesty I don't have the required woodworking skills.

Secondly the car has the three individual seats in the back with a tray/cup holder on the back of the middle one when the seat is folded forward.  This leaves an uneven surface along the back seats when they are all folded forward.  Would I have to remove the seat or take off the tray for the boot jump type kit to have a decent flat floor?

That's it for now, thanks in advance for your help.

Olly.

Hi Olly.

Welcome to the forum.

I recently acquired a similar vehicle to yours and put a boot jump in.

I cant speak for "peak valley conversions" as I went with a different company.

I can answer the question of the back seats though.

Most boot jumps designed for the multispace/teepee fold to allow the back seats to be retained. When the bed is folded out it goes over the folded down rear seats, using the back of them for support. With mine i knew i would be leaving 2 of the back seats out most of the time so the manufacturer added a folding support leg to bridge the gap were the seat would be.

Unfortunately my model doesn't have the airplane style table on the middle rear seat so I am unable to advise on how this affects the design but I would hope any decent manufacturer would have encountered this and designed around it.

If you have any more questions regarding boot jumps please feel free to ask, I went thorough all this early this year and this forum was very useful.

That's really helpful thank you.

I'm sure I shall have some more questions in the future! The forum has been a really good source of information.

Could I just ask which manufacturer you used?

Thanks again.

This company is based in Kent, but they do deliver across europe

I went to visit them before I put an order in and was really impressed with their set up. Martin the owner was happy for me to fully inspect a unit, put it in my car and test it. He has a CNC mill and the CAD package so he is able to modify the designs to suit what you require.

I have been using one of their units for the past 3 months and am really pleased with it.

Just a warning though.... when I put an order in (end of June) there was a waiting list of over a month (more if modifications were required) and the owner did tell me he is struggling to keep up with demand.

If you have any questions you think I may be able to answer please feel free to ask

They look very impressive, but for over £1k they should!
You might not feel you have the skills to build your own, but all you need to be able to build is a plywood box (which is shat you are paying all that money for).

Buy a few basic tools, a few sheets of plywood and give it a go. I've just built one, same functionality as the pro ones (though admittedly does not look as fancy) but I've built it all in for about £100
