Does a broken valve cause diesel knock?

Diesel knock is fuel/timing related.If you have a broken valve-don't run it.You may get away with a head off job & valves.Have you done a compression test?Confusedalut:

DON'T RUN IT if the valve is staying shut or if it's over fueling it will Knock but if it's a broken valve big trouble take the rocker cover off take a look and go from there
