Probably the heater resistor unit, located in the air pipe work, near to the fan.

Thank you for response. Would you recommend repairing the unit or buying a replacement?

I would get a new one personally, as they can burn the wiring.

Any ideas as to where I can buy one in Ireland or online? Also what info about my van I need to furnish.

Best bet is to take your old one out so you know what it looks like and then go on ebay or europarts and compare like for like as there are a few different versions.
Something like this but check!!!!!!!!

Make sure your fan rotates easily too. I had a similar problem with the fan in a Micra. It would keep burning out the fusible link on the resistor pack. I resoldered it several times. In the end I found the fan was stiff. Cleaning out the brushes and a drop of solvent followed by some WD40 made it spin much better and solved the problem.

Thank you all for help. My resistor unit was above the fan and motor in the ducting. I removed the motor and fan and could see the resistor pack up in the housing where the fan is housed. There was no need to remove fan and motor as the resistor fits in a separate slot. Replacement part available from Citroen for €29. Simple job. Thanks.
