Tuning box & limp mode
#11
With the DPF/FAP you take it off drill the center out with a long drill and clean it out so it just leaves the shell you can't take it a part as such you can get the regeneration process deleted and blank or delete the EGR as well

Yes! I wanna change the entire exhaust to use stainless steel.. I also want to change the turbo (bought the 112hp version - GTC1244VZ) and i can't mount it with the 75hp downpipe..
On the other hand i want to keep EGT and AFR sensors..

Something like this:

I'm guessing i was getting that because when the DPF does a regen the pressure should go up, but the tuning box was already producing such high pressure? Correct me if I'm wrong..

That kind of tuning box's use a resistor to "cheat" values read by the ECU.. If you set the tuning box too high, ECU will think that fuel pressure is not enough and instead of increase it, the engine enter in safe mode..

Now you got 2 problems caused by "false" reading of fuel pressure sensor:

- too much rail pressure that can damage DPF (because the ECU will try to compensate, increasing fuel pressure until you reach the limiter programmed on ECU)
- safe mode (because ECU is reading too low values from Fuel Pressure Sensor)..

Forget tuning box's.. The best way to increase power/torque is definitely remapping the ECU Wink
