fast idle

hiya lads ,03 non turbo idle is fast, is it a thermostat ,how much are they ,easy to do?

approx. 850 rpm.

No point starting a new thread for the same problem.... My 55 plate 1.9d is sitting around 1100rpm. Is it an adjustment to lower it or something else altogether? I've not worked on engines much since the days of twin choke carburettors. These new fangled computerised engines stop me dead in my tracks Smile

Hi Folks
I have a 52 1.9d. Changed my idle thermostat last month as it was around 1100rpm. Pretty easy to do, bear in mind you'll be dropping the coolant to do it though. Its an ideal opportunity to flush the cooling system at the same time.
Havent found a pattern source. The genuine part was approx £35. I'll dig out the paperwork and post the part number.
Any ????? let me know. Confusedalut:
