Washed it now got problems
#1
Sad
I've a 2017 Berlingo XTR 1.6 diesel 70,000 miles on the clock. It's been relatively pain free motoring until today.
My Berlingo got it's biennial wash last night.
I went to take my daughter to school this morning and the screen for the radio has stopped working (radio still plays fine). No water noticeable inside the cabin.
I drove maybe 15 miles stopped the car and then restarted it after calling at a shop, only for a solid engine management warning light to appear. Still drives fine, but MOT due soon.

Now one might have been a coincidence, but for both to happen within 30 minutes of each other after washing it just seems suspect to me.

I used snow foam and a small/not overly powerful, power washer but didn't think I was going crazy with it.

Is it likely these will dry out and resolve itself?

Could have gotten water into the BSI though it's less common with the B9. Check behind the glovebox for signs of water or foam ingress.

I had a look and no sign of water ingress.
Do you think a BSI reset would help?

Always worth a try, follow the steps exactly and wait the full times mentioned online. BBA Reman (who repair BSI units) do a good sensible version of it on their site. Search "BBA Reman BSI Reset" or use one of the times I've posted it as a guide.

One out of two fixed with the BSI reset.
I got my screen back for the radio. Hooray!!
Radio screen displays the following warning when starting the car "Engine Fault : Repair Needed"
Any idea how to remove the solid engine management light?

Thanks for replying to my problems.

You need to get yourself an OBD code reader. There are some threads on here about how to use / what to buy etc. If still unsure, post a reply to one of those threads & someone will help.

I managed to get the light out.
I was replacing a front drivers side daytime running light and noticed the coolant was low, so topped that up after changing the light. Low and behold the light went out with the next start.
I've no idea if I wiggled something back into place whilst fitting the nightmare of the light or it was just the coolant level.
I'm still thinking of getting one of those OBD readers as they look very handy to have.

Thanks
