Adding a 12v socket in the boot

Yeah, I've been digging on the left side as well. Actually had some electrical issues with my trailer hitch wiring a year or so ago... That white wire there is always live if I understand correctly. I'm worried the kids will forget a charger plugged in in the back without me noticing, and discharging the battery. So I would prefer something that's only live when the car's running.

"I do see a green-and-yellow wire there, for negative. And one of the wires must be to my rear lights, that are always one. But is it a really bad idea to power a 12 v socket on the wires for the rear lights?" - If its just for charging phones ect, that wont take much kick out of it (not like the old days of powering a hefty cigarette lighter. Wink ). You may need to have the lights on to charge thing though.

I'm guessing you'd have to run a separate cable from the front. As far a I can see this is part of the tow bar cabling sets.

The cars here are wired to always have the lights on - we're required to by law. So that's not a problem ? The new quick charge standards are specced up to 100W. You still think that's fine?
