Hi all,
El Berlingo just finished his service on the 1.6HD. All went really well, no problems until the very end! My fault, but help from the forum sorted me out. Needed to prime the fuel system and then off we went! Thanks to the contributors for that! O.K. just a few 'heads up' if you are travelling in Europe in your Berlingo this summer. I've mention some of these before but will repeat in case you missed it the first time. Don't forget that if you need to wear spectacles for driving you must have TWO pairs in you car (in Spain). These must not be one sunglasses (prescription) and one normal. They must both be for normal day/night use. Big fine if you don't conform. Also, In France, don't forget TWO breathalyser kits. These can be purchased (cheaply) on line or at petrol stations. In Spain, apart from bulb kits, triangles, headlight deflectors don't forget a luminous jacket for ALL those in the car. Spain is strict on this and the jackets (vests) should be in the car CAB not the boot for quick use. No driving in flip flops or shoes with no back support. Police love this one during tourist time! NO shopping bags in the cab! Especially on the front passenger seat...big fine! Do not cross double lines to turn left or right and always, always STOP at stop lines DO NOT just give way....another easy target with a big fine! In France,make sure your Sat -Nav does not have speed camera alerts on it. New French law! Beware of speed cameras on EXIT roads from motorways leading in to rest areas and petrol stations.
On a more pleasant note, the price of diesel seems to come down in price (in Spain) daily! Its currently at 1.32 eur/litre.
