yup,I did that on my 58 plate van,earthed the horn to a nearby bolt,works ok now,apart from the annoying little peep when what your wanting is BBARPPPPPP get outta my way..Ian

I tried this, it didn't work, hard wiring and screwing into the column did.

Just to say thank you to all who posted about the horn problem. Mine started playing up. Did the jump lead on the base of the steering column test and the horn worked with the ignition on. wasn't in the mood to take the air bag off, so using a jubilee clip and a piece of decent wire made a fix at the base of the column and up to now works fine.

Another one here fixed by improving the earth. We put a little earth strap on a 2003 Multispace between the steering column and chassis and now horn is fine again. Has been "fixed" in this way for over a year now.
