Hi Madhouse, I had a '04 reg 1.9D, and a '56 reg 1.6 HDi (both old shape, Mark 2 and 3 I believe). The main problem with both these vans was front wheel bearing wear! I seemed to be constantly taking them to garages to have the front wheel bearings replaced (I covered about 185,000 miles in each of them). However, I have never had to buy a single new front wheel bearing for any of the 2 B9 (latest shape) Berlingos I've owned. I did 343,000 miles in the first, and my current '15 reg has done 105,000 miles with no noises coming from the front wheels (yet!).
You can recognise front wheel bearing wear, when it sounds like you have a propeller up front pulling your van down the road lol! If there is any weakness in the B9 front suspension setup it's weak coil springs. I had 2 break on my first B9, but never had any break on the mark 2 or 3 Berlingos I owned.
