Will do tomcat, just wondering if they can cut a blank key if the original is twisted , I dare not try and straighten as this might not end well
And update ..starter changed ..again all working fine as long as I put the key it the right way!!
Oh and changed ns sidelight bulb whilst I was at it ..hmmm fun

Go to a good old fashioned locksmith with your van and let them cut you a key. They can tweak it and try it in the ignition to make sure it works.

Hi All,
Had a similar issue on an old ZX I had, but noticed the noise early on - the return spring in the barrel weakened/broke and wouldn't spring the key back from the start position. Car was in the latter days of its life so instead of changing the barrel etc. I just wired an indicator buzzer from the starter solenoid lead and once the car had fired turned the key back to the normal run position, until the buzzer stopped.
A cheap bodge!
Cheers
