Best oil and Filter to use
#1
Hi Everyone
I have just purchased a 2010 Berlingo first 1.6 75 hp Hdi van.
The van has done 14300 miles. I was about to do an oil and filter change and was wondering which is the best brand of oil and oil filter to use.
Does it matter what make the oil filter is.

Thanks in advance
simon.

I use Citroen's recommended oil in my 2010 XTR which is the Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W30 at £26.74 including VAT and Postage from Neilson's CDG
This is the cheapest I've found and I think a few on this forum get theirs from Neilson's as well

I then get a genuine filter and sump plug washer from my local Citroen dealer for about £15

Thanks Ron
Are these vans with the 1.6 Hdi engine really that bad.
Thought i was having a good deal when i bought it not so sure now after reading these reports. Just how common is this turbo failure as there seems to be a lot of the 1.6 berlingos around.

The problems are usually found with badly maintained engines &/or using the wrong oil.Hence my recommending shorter oil change intervals.I change my oil @ 6,000 miles but I am a devout coward in the wallet department.Confusedalut:Rolleyes

I was worried to when I bought my berlingo about the turbo failure because it seems to be extremely common problem. But i keep my oil changes up, i also removed mesh filter from the pick up pipe to the turbo which gets blocked very easy lots of people on here have done this.
