Okay so hopefully you don't all shoo me out of here because I've got a Peugeot Partner instead of a 'Lingo but they're as good as the same right??
I used to have Benedict the Berlingo, and after owning an LDV Convoy, a Vauxhall Vectra and a Fiat Seicento, I saw sense and got best of all worlds with a Partner/Multispace!
Or so I thought....
I purchased Pup on Boxing Day with '12 months MOT' with no advisories for £350 (should've known then it was too good to be true) Granted, he was a little rough around the edges but I wasn't looking for a show stopper.
Upon getting it home, for a start I realised was a DW8, not XUD oh well, it moves at least.
It's perhaps easiest to bullet points problems found since....:
- N/S front tyre bilp/bulge when weight on that area! (Immediately changed)
- N/S smashed mirror glass.
- When wobbling front wheels to check play (which there is plenty of) the gearbox sump plug was found to be half out so there's no bloody oil in it!
- That may explain the constant rubble sound when driving (I thought it may be a bearing) (Wouldn't surprise me if it is too.)
- There was a 'clunk' felt through the steering. (Cracked spring on N/S)
- As for the drivers corner, there is a HORRENDOUS noise (can't even describe it! intermittent grinding/clanking/just bloody awful!) as the wheel turns, yet not in reverse o.O (that's todays investigation after work)
- The O/S rear door can't be shut after the front one is, or it sits over the top of it....
- I know there is more but meh...
Sigh, yes I know these are things I perhaps should've noticed, but the 'test drive' was rushed, frankly the fellas driving style was shocking and I thought for the price I could afford to fix stuff. Just didn't expect it to be this bad with supposed MOT.
I am appalled the testing station has let this go on the road, I'm glad I bought it because it won't be staying in this condition for very long! I'd like to report them, but know I'd have to pay for another MOT and dread what list would come back, and I don't have an alternative vehicle!!
I will probably be picking you peoples brains if anyone out there minds offering them
I'll see y'all in the problem section!
