ball joint on gear linkage
#1
I am trying to find part numbers for the ball hinge and socket bushes for the engine end of gear selector on my 2005 1.6 petrol berlingo. The ball pops out when selecting reverse can anyone enlighten me? I only seem to find the smaller link arms listed  anywhere

Look on eBay there are sets of linkage for M59 for less money than you can buy one piece from a dealer.
So where does this bit go then ?

Careful what ones you buy . I bought a set last  year of ebay (Chinese ones I think ) . The thread was either too small on the male or too large on the females, bit of both really,  and just last week the rubber centre on one of the better bits had rotted and fell out

A new set from a Lithuania  dealer on ebay based here, about the same price but far better quality and quick and free postage from Southampton (I think ? ) soon sorted me out. about £18 !

It's the bush that goes into the part circled I am struggling to find.
I can find the male part arrowed

Your picture is that small it's hard to make out, but I think this is it below.

There doesn't appear to be a bush that goes in the circle part, it's just the ball on the end of the arm labelled "B"

There isn't a bush there, it's just a nylon ball that sits inside the steel sleeve. If the ball is popping out, it's likely one of the three gear linkages that have failed

My sons looks like it's bushed. One link failed, which has been replaced, but ball still pops out in reverse, I presumed it was a combination of worn ball and bush, I was going to change both, but can't seem to find a bush anywhere. Which as you say may not there (it's a 2005 1.6 petrol)

There is definitely no bush there. Peugeot Citroen have used this or a very similar design for the last 25+ years on the vast majority of their car range, and none of them have a bush.

If the ball is popping out of the guide tube, one of the gearchange rods is either in the wrong place, or something is mis-adjusted.
