How long have you had it on, and do you have it turned up to max?

So, the clutch is fixed. The release bearing and pressure plate fingers were totally buggered. Full LUK clutch kit fitted plus a new bearing guide tube.
Clutch is feather light now, what a difference.

Glad to hear you got it all sorted quickly Zion.
If you don't mind me asking, what was the bill for this in the end? still £350?
Reason I ask is that have recently learnt that your vehicle is a similar age and mileage as mine, and if memory serves, your clutch issues started with juddering when cold.
Mine sometimes shows similar symptoms, only during the first 2 or 3 slips of the clutch.
Would be nice to know how much I need to keep back for if and when it does happen.
If you did get it done for £350 I'm limping it to Scotland when it does go, saving would far outweigh the fuel cost!

Hi, it was £365 including the guide tube for the bearing as it had welded itself to it - the bearing guide was an extra £15.
Remains of the bearing scattered across right hand side:
Mind you, general garages were quoting twice that. I got a clutch specialist to do it.

Mine juddered when pulling away, most every time, worse when cold and was really bad if the van was loaded up. Also the pedal was heavy from the day I bought it..now it's light as air and smooth, no judder at all.

Unfortunately, only seems to cover Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire. But a good to know about if you live in that area.

I've had the unit fitted for about 3 years. I didn't realise they could be turned up? Just plug and play. The car does pull well and it's nicer to drive but as I say, I don't get that may miles to the gallon.

I wouldn’t consider this job at less than 5 hours, you need to drop the subframe, so it’s a bit of a job.
An LUK clutch kit or Valeo is going to be £100 give or take tenner + vat.
The gearbox will need fresh gear oil (you wouldn’t put the old back in).
So basically it’s £300 labour £100 clutch & £12 gear oil + vat.
£350 is VERY cheap in my view.
Hello Mark, sorry I only just noticed your post, I'd replied to the first unread one, and it jumped pages. Wasn't till I read back through it.
Thanks mate, I forgot about needing gear oil too. I got a years warranty / 12000 miles with it too, not bad. He had it in from 8.30 till 4.00 pm then called to say it's ready. The old thrust bearing was welded to a guide tube - didn't realise it had a guide but he had them in stock. There was no bearing left, just the face & inner shell. No wonder it squealed. The pressure plate fingers were a mess.
Glad I didn't even try to tackle it, there's no way I'd have got the subframe off on the road side.

Glad you got it sorted & at a great price also.
We replaced one last week & on the manual box, you can leave the subframe alone.
It is still a time consuming job & thankfully I don’t have to work for such labour rates.
I actually prefer the semi autos, as there are no gear cables to rake off, they are pretty horrid on the Berlingo.
