Hi, just joined your forum after stumbling upon it whilst searching for info regarding alloy wheels for the Multispace we collect on Sunday..

We will be collecting a 2000 1.8 petrol Multispace mainly for general use.

Thinking about tinting the back glass sections and vinyl lettering the windows for our business, possibly debadge the car and maybe fit some nice wheels to make it a bit more pleassing to the eye...

Anyway, great forum full of info so hope to be a regular on here now.

Collected the Berlingo on Sunday morning ... running sweet, looking great and well happy...!

Hi all
just joined and own a 09 Berlingo XTR. It has however started drifting to the left and I have to constantly steer slightly to the right to compensate. It is not effected by braking and I have had the tracking done. Just wondered if anyone has encountered this.

Hi Franke, this is an area that I have some experience. The answer to your question could be long but I'll make it short and if you need anymore info just let me know...if you are happy the suspension etc is ok you might find some info in the following..

Check the tyre pressures first, any existing uneven tyre wear on the shoulders for example will continue to steer your vehicle even if the tracking is put right just imagine the heel on a shoe.

Four wheel alignment is the way forward but only if it is done eactly right and often I know that it isn't unfortunately. 4 wheel alignment works out the thrust line of your back axle and then aligns your front wheels to this imaginary direction... lets say the back axle was a couple of mm's from straight line, you start to drive and feel the car drifting one way.... you instictively turn the steering wheel to correct this. Your back wheels are in fact steering the car and your correcting it with the fronts... even if you correct this, any existing uneven tyre wear will still steer the car.

The other possibility is a worn steering or suspension component but again if the technician knows his stuff he should check this before adjusting the tracking.

So before I start waffling I would say run the tyres out then fit new ones and set the tracking up. Let me know if you need any specific advice on this side of things, happy to help if I can.

I don't want to impose on you too much on but just thought I would add a couple more things to the equation. There was uneven wear on front nearside so I had the tracking done (which was out)but it made no difference but I guess the tryes could by then be steering the car.So I bought four new tyres as they were all getting a bit borderline. This seemed to slightly improve things for a while but now it is worse then ever. There is no obvious uneven wear to the tryes at the moment and pressures are correct. I have even tried putting a couple of pounds less in the front nearside but that has made no difference. I hear what you say about the rear wheels effectively steering the car so is 4 wheel allignment something that you can get done at a garage? Do you think this is something that should be checked on PDI? My warranty runs out in a couple of weeks and it would be good to go to the dealership pre armed
