I have a 1.9D lingo and am changing the cambelt, i have a couple of probs
1, the crank sprocket has a shitload of play on the keyway, like a tooths worth! is this normal??
2, yeah i know i should have pinned the damn thing up, but i tippexed, and forgot to tippex the injector pump, is this just a pump and dont matter, or have i buggered up in huge fashion?
3, IF the cambelt was a tooth out, what would happen?
i changed water pump, i took the glow plugs out to make it easier to turn engine over with a socket, also fixing an oil leak on cam cover.
i need help by morning please if possible.
thanks in advance.....

If its a 1.9 you need to lock everything up - the pump will move if not locked up when you untension the belt. The 2.0hdis have an elongated keyway in the bottom pulley but not the 1.9 so i cant understand that one?
I would start by locking the engine correctly or you may cause yourself some damage!

I though it did....
Yes the pump needs to be timed up, the diagram in the link shows where the pump is pinned.
I can't answer why the crankshaft pulley has movement on the keyway.

Unfortunately yes, you'll have to time the engine up with the pins to get the pump in the correct place.
