Not sure I would want to try to drag much with a Berlingo or are you suggesting that it is a good thing to keep in the boot for when it conks out?! Either way. it does look good value and much safer than a tow rope.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Hopefully I would never need it , but having been towed several times in my past dodgy motors with a rope I can see it being useful .

I am tempted but doesnt look very long,,,I prefer a LONG rope to keep some distance between my shiny berlingo and whatever I am towing. Maybe just old fashioned......

Yeah, me too. The specs say it is 1.8 meters long which is probably fine if you have the reaction time of Jensen Button but I'd want something longer.

That hooks onto the towing eyes, I wouldn't want to use it.

Nasty experience with towing eyes.
Broke down a few years ago on a busy main road with an Astra Mk11 and my mate came to bail me out with his trusty old Land Rover. We used a webbing sling with "D" links through the towing eye on the Astra and around the towhitch on the Landy. My mate set off rather hastily, there was a violent snatch then nothing as the landy moved on leaving me stranded.
My mate thought the tow-sling had parted company but in the event he had pulled the towing eye complete with a huge chunk of rotten metal away from the front of my car.....

1) They're not TOWING eyes. They are to tie the car down when on a transporter.

2) A towing POLE means you DONT need the reactions of Jenson B, as the cars are a set distance apart, fixed by the length of the pole. Poles are alwys used for HGVs.

I am sorry colinh, I wouldn't feel confident in either towing or being towed using this device and what happens if the vehicle doing the towing suddenly brakes???

Two possible outcomes,
1)the towed vehicle would try to push the bar and bend it like a banana.
2)The bar would not deform and the towed vehicle would be swung around or the bar would rip away the chassis or area where the bar is affixed.

The price should tell you of the dubious quality of the item and yes, towing poles are used to tow HGVs but have you seen the size and build quality of those devices.

Too late for the offer anyhow, it finished on 27th January
