why is diesel generally 6 pence dearer than unleaded, when it's a lot less refined (and therefore costs less to produce)?
Just because a diesel engine does better MPG, why should petrol companies profiteer from it??

Been asking that question for ages, when i had my first diesel car ("G" reg Astra 1.7D Belmont from new in 1989) Diesel was a lot cheaper than petrol but prices have overtaken nowadays.
Think you will probably find that it is the money-stealing government that are doing the profiteering though....
