Seats in Boot

Hi again
The Mk1 berlingo i just bought came with two extra seats that you put in the boot,but they have never been fitted.
Has anyone ever drilled the holes in the rear floor to fit them or should i get the garage to fit them.
It seems straight forward but i dont know what runs under the floor.

The law is a bit different here in Denmark because it was a common option here, all you need to do is take it to the syn(mot )and have them approve it and change your log book to the correct number of seats.
I was just worried about cables or pipes under the boot floor pan

Sorry mate, did not realise you are from Denmark. In England the powers-that-be do not allow us such luxuries with our vehicles !!!

Used to be quite a common occurence and modification over here but the practice is now ruled out in this so called "Nanny-State" of ours

They were an option on early Berlingos so if you have Citroën ones they should be a fairly simple fit. Personally, I would never put my kids or any one else in them as they are horrendous in an accident

Its fine its just for the mother and father in law
Would not let my kids sit there either

The 7 seat option is legal here in Switzerland but, I'd never let anyone sit there. Horrific in an accident.

We have them fitted in our Mk1 car. Mounted sideways and flip up / down as required.

The 'legs' are U shaped and fold out to rest on the floor against the side of the car. They are not bolted down or anything so they can be swung up out of the way when carrying a load - the legs sort of clip onto a little 'shelf' on the wheelarch which sort of 'locks' them into position.

Obviously, they don't have seat belts and the MOT testers have questioned their legality but as we never use them for transporting people it has never really been an issue.

They are useful for picnics and when camping etc but we don't them that much...
