I'd drink the vodka and then wouldn't have to worry about a greasy screen.........

Just tried newspaper :-(

Finally found a place that stocks the 'proper' Windolene (pink bottle - thick creamy stuff), lots of elbow grease later - worked just fine. I did want to try the vodka fix but my wife knows me too well and nixed that idea.

Windolene spray was crap - save your money.

Been looking for some of the pink stuff for a while, where did you get it?
How's the Mini btw?

Autoglym car glass polish is similar to the old pink windolene (exept it's blue) but works very well on smeary greasy windscreens.

Windolene - place called Charlies - West Wales - local chain of ironmongers/DIY places that stocks all the stuff your grandparents reminisced about.

Mini? Currently on blocks (new discs/pads all round being fitted) and one injector has gone back for recoding - engine was running fine but ECU would not accept code, Bosch UK very helpful so it's gone for recalibration whilst I get the brakes overhauled (maybe I'm being uber-fussy but I did pay £££ for them so why not?). Did a 400 mile run last weekend though and the 110 HP engine in that car is impressive, bags of low down torque and looks to be returning around 60 mpg. Can't fit buggarawl in the boot but that's why we have a Berlingo.

Good to know the Mini is still going strong, it was interesting to see things unfold from undoing bodges to following things found in German & Polish!
After a root around, it seems that pink Windolene is making a comeback, fortunately I only need to go as far as B&Q...
