1.9d Lucas berlingo died while driving

I tried to crank it and it just cranks fast with no strange sound. I opened the valve cover and the valves look OK.

2007 1.9d van

Do the valves move when cranking? Sounds like a burst timing belt. Take the cam cover off and get a friend to crank it while you watch. No movement, means the timing belt has snapped.

So I should try the old piece of cloth test?
Gotta go to work tomorrow, update tomorrow...

Crack a fuel line to see if fuel is coming? Sure.

The valves look like brand new and they are all working fine. The top part that is... Big Grin

The problem is found... its a sad sad day   Smile
Third cylinder was throwing water out the inlet.
Haven't had the time to open the head so it's a weekend project now I guess.
Thanks to ya all  Heart

Ah ok, not so good eh. But may still be easy to resolve once the head is off.

Possible that con rod bent on number 3 cylinder if engine hydrauliced with water. Also I guess you already know but don't count No 1 cylinder from the front pulley end of engine like I did

Ugh.. Idea i did count from the pulley   Big Grin guess it's the second one then or it was the one with open intake valve...
BTW the ones closer to pulley (3 and 4th) were pulling less vacuum when cranking while the other two sucked the skin out my hand Big Grin
Kinda new to psa so... but I do love my tractor of a van Heart
And on the hydrauliced part. I don't think so since it cracked a hose, oil is black as it gets so I guess it blew compression into the water system
