What's this unused plug in the tailgate loom?

Does the van have central locking on the rear door/tailgate?

It does, all the central locking works too... the connector was wrapped in a bit of insulating foam, Its black with a purple insert, wires are green/yellow and yellow...

The only reason I was in there in the first place is I'm attempting to better insulate/soundproof the tailgate, It's probably all for nothing but hey, thought I'd give it a crack.

Only yellow wire I can see goes to screen washer pump, the wire with the green trace will most likely be for a switched earth.

Do you have a rear wiper and has the connector got space for 3 pins even though 2 are only inserted. cratch:

My rear wiper has a 4 pin connector and meets the loom higher up in the door, this mystery plug comes out of the loom right next to the rear door locking mechanism, and It was wrapped in foam, I don't think It's ever been used.

Everything on the rear door works as it should (if you ignore the fact that the wiper doesn't move!)

central lockings fine,
Number plate lights are fine,
wiper motor works.

There are actually no problems with any of the functions, I'm just trying to find out why theres an unused plug there....

Maybe its a french thing?
