Alternative radiator hose
#1
I've been searching the net to find radiator hoses for my berlingo mk1 van
So I'm getting back prices of £64 for one hose
No way I'm paying that
So what's to stop me buying a length of radiator hose in the  bore size I need and either re route it so there are no major kinks in it ?
Or to achieve the bends I require , using  plumbing fittings
Like elbows or straight couplings ??
As always
Any feedback  please ???

Use the copper plumbing fittings and copper pipe and just use rubber ends, that's what I did on my home made car and lots of others do it.
So where does this bit go then ?

Thanks for your replies everybody
i have the bits to make this happen so will get around to it after i have looked in to a feww other problems the van has.
What i would really have liked is to have clear heating tubes so that i would be able to see the condition of the coolant and any air bubbles in the system
I must stop over thinking things
otherwise i will be creating a monster Berlingo Idea Idea

I did sort out the cooling system in the end.
I purchased some heating rated hose on ebay and re- directed it to its locations from lower radiator to engine block and secured it in to place and im happy to say it works just fine, so £7 instead of the £64 i was quoted for the original hose.
Good stuff

Now you know why people buy silicone hoses, it's not a tuning/visual performance thing. It's just they are the only one that make cheap stuff and with the correct bends.
