locker box
#1
Just purchased a 2005 multispace and the hinge on lockerbox is broken,I know this is a common fault but has anyone other ideas than velcro

Well, I've been toying with the idea of using nylon straps pop riveted into place as restraints, likewise
using nylon webbing as a replacement hinge and fastening it with a magnetic catch or
using some of that magnetic strip you find in refrigerator door seals.
Trouble is that both my doors are still OK....so I'll have to wait until one breaks to try the scheme out!
Plastic welding is also a possibility.

Oh! Welcome Bryn!

I read of someone drilling a few holes and threading tie wraps through, even got some to match the material of the box so they didn't stand out as a bodge.
So where does this bit go then ?

I need to investigate this as both of mine failed in the last couple of weeks. They weren't even being used, just failed !!

Too cold at the moment though.

What's your problem with velcro? Used it on ours and holds it fine. Might be a pain if you use cupboard a lot, but easiest solution.

BTW, I tried supergluing the hinges. Didn't work, stuck my fingers together pretty well though!
