Update

Have tested every led on the clocks board and every single bulb works!
Could it have anything to do with the bsi? As the remote locking randomly stopped working a few months ago but still operates via key in drivers side lock?
Thinking it may be linked somehow

Have you tried a BSI reset? there's details somewhere on the forum of how to do it.

Yea I tried that a few times in case I did it wrong,no change at all.
Thinking the abs pump/ecu maybe faulty but why would it not light up the abs light permanently?
Thays why I'm thinking bsi fault of some kind.

So you need to get the ABS light to work to get the car through the MOT, is that correct?

It's possible that a defective ABS pump /ecu would stop the light working.

Exactly that!
It's just the light not coming on while turning ignition which was the only major fail I can't sort out.
There were a few other 'major issues' that it failed I can easily resolve such as a new passenger side wishbone bushing its just this abs light that's stopping it passing thats why it's so frustrating.
Will have a look on forum regards to abs pump and see if it can be tested.
Also see on ebay just now you can buy the set of bsi,ecu and ignition,so this maybe another option if the pump shows as operational as it may also explain why the remote locking randomly stopped working?

The airbag warning light on my dash works exactly the same as the ABS warning light, I would get creative with the soldering iron and a small LED if I were in your position  Wink

It's much better working on problems like this in the warmer weather!

Thinking about it,2 small pieces of wire bridging from the active led to the abs light would do the same thing?
Or do you reckon its best to unsolder the abs light and Solder wire from a nearby active led and have it just floating about near the abs sign on the dials?

This is all hypothetical as it wouldn't be wise to alter any warning lights on any vehicle.  Angel   Wink

If there's enough space to fit in a separate LED I think it would be better to leave the ABS light as it is and put a new LED in parallel from the Airbag LED... you don't want any cross feed from different circuits.

As far as I know, Berlingo's with ABS have no brake pressure regulating valve on the rear axle, they rely on the ABS system to sort this out.
(My car has rear discs & no regulator valve on the axle . . . but I don't know about the cars with Drum rear brakes & ABS)

So technically, if the ABS isn't working you would have no load proportioning to the rear brakes, but I'm not 100% sure that would be the case, I think there may be some other method of regulation in play, room for thought on that one.

However . . . At this point you don't know if your ABS is working or not, all you know is that the warning light isn't working, as Pedronicus & Guanock have suggested it may be a good idea to test the system on a quiet / gravel road, if it's working you will feel the strange grinding feeling you get through the brake pedal when the ABS operates, I would describe the feeling as something like walking on creaky snow.
